I bought a starter bar for my 30th. I’ve never had a bar, and I must say that it’s a pretty damn awesome selection of liquors. I love my wife for letting me spend the money. This bar cost a little over $100. I’m going to give you my take of each top shelf liquor. Keep in mind that I don’t know much about liquor.
- Woodford Reserve
- Sailor Jerry
- Remy Martin
- Beefeater
- Tito’s
- Barcarti
- el Jimador
I’ll start with Woodford Reserve, my go-to Whiskey.
Woodford reserve is a Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey. I’m not sure what that means, but I do know it’s a really easy-to-drink Whiskey. This particular drink’s taste is easily acquired. This is my go-to sipping whiskey. My professor friend of mine once told me, “that you add just enough water to your drink till you like it.” There’s no shame in adding water. I put a splash in, and sometimes more than a splash.
The next liquor is Sailor Jerry’s:
All this drinking had me wore out, so I took a quick nap.
Next on our list, Austin’s own, Tito’s. It says it’s handmade vodka but two lawsuits were filed against arguing false advertising because the vodka is “made from commercially manufactured ‘neutral grain spirit’ that is trucked and pumped into Tito’s industrial facility” I’m assuming most marketing is stretching the truth, and I don’t care that much.
I started to feel duped because all the descriptions for these liquors were smooth. I guess if it’s not smooth it’s not being drank.
I paused from drinking because at this point I was 5 “shots” deep into these drinks. I only weight 160 lbs, and am what some might call a lightweight. I needed to eat some chips and have some coffee.
(Chemex is my method of choice for brewing coffee)
Next up on our list is Bacardi. I got this little number because it’s a good name in the circles I hang out in. I have no idea if it’s considered a good drink or not, because I always use it for mixing. It does have a smooth vanilla taste.
Last on our list is Amber and I’s favorite drink, Tequila. When I was growing up I thought that if you had three shots of tequila you would actually hit the floor, or pass out. I found out that when Amber takes more than 4 shots she starts crying. I’d describe the taste of this as deliciousioso. You should drink tequila with salt and a lime.
- Better to let a baby be clothed or naked?
- Should they be allowed to call it fresh?

Tequila is nasty and strong. Idk how yall do it. Gin is actually my favorite and doesn't taste like much

I liked the gin once we added the juice. One part vodka + one part water+ice & lime is my new favorite "I don't have any mixers" drink.
