Wellness Mama does an excellent job of thoroughly explaining the harmful effects of sugar. I love a challenge, particularly a food challenge. We are blessed to be able to make choices regarding the foods we eat.
I’m done with sugar. Today my Mom said, “Amber I stopped eating sugar…you inspire me with your will power.” Oh my lawd. If I’m unknowingly inspiring people, I better step my game up! Thanks Mom, I needed that reminder.
As a new mom, I’m tired! When I’m tired, I want sugar, carbs, and more sugar. All that sugar is followed by a crash. Then, I start the whole cycle over again, feeding my fatigue with sugar and caffeine.
I’ve mentally documented the desserts, I’ve eaten in the past couple of weeks: Key Lime Pie, Cherry Pie, Ice cream, Coconut Cake, Shoo Fly Pie, More Ice cream,Brownies, Thin mints, Cookies, and, Cinnamon Buns. Geez, that’s so much sugar.
Do you put sugar in your coffee? Do you have a sugary breakfast? A sweet afternoon pick me up? Dessert every day? Do you reward yourself or children with sweets? If you do, you should join me in our May Challenge.
Sugar, we’re through.
Sugar is a comfort food. Why does every life event involve cake. Seriously, get your cake out of my face.Example, “There are four birthdays at work this week, guess that means I’ll eat my body weight in cake.” Give it up people.
“But Amber, you don’t understand I have a sweet tooth.”
Give it up.
“It’s just a little. It’s not a big deal.“
Stop lying to yourself. Give it up.
For real though. What would happen if you stopped eating sugar with me for a month? Maybe you’d actually have more energy and feel better. Is there anymore room in those jeans?
For the purposes of this challenge only sugar naturally in foods(including, but not limited to: fruits, dairy & vegetables) is allowed. No refined or artificial sweeteners including: white sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, sucanat, splenda, stevia, agave, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, brown rice syrup, cane juice, fruit juice, honey, maple syrup, and any others that I’ve left out. It’s a good time to start reading labels. You’re bread, cereals, snacks probably have at least one of those ingredients. Next week, I’ll post some suggestions to replace those sugar laden pantry items.
I’ve created a facebook group for our May Challenge. Join and invite your friends. Are there other challenges you’d like to see in the future? Comment below. Alright, now finish that cookie.

I'm pretty much on this no sugar track right now. I only eat it in fruits, honey and dark chocolate if I can help it. The only time I eat cake/cookies/other crap is if someone gives it to me. Sugar should be banned. Hahaha
