Trader Joe’s is a great place for sugarless shopping.
Your breads, crackers, sauces, deli meats, cured meats, cereals, condiments, packaged foods, prepared foods, peanut butter, frozen meals, flavored yogurts, dried fruits, and protein bars…contain added sugar. If you still aren’t on board think about it this way, look at your bread, how many grams of sugar does it have? Lets take this seemingly “healthy” whole wheat bread for example, it contains 3 grams of sugar per slice. You have a slice every day that’s, 2.4 lbs of sugar in a year! If you eat a sandwich every day, that’s almost 5 lbs of sugar a year. People, that’s just in your bread.
Trader Joe’s is known as the Whole Foods for “poor people,” and I’m totally okay with that. All of the the following are great additions to your no addedsugar grocery list.
Note: I choose organic when I can, but there are less expensive conventional varieties that I may not have listed. Did you know that Trader Joe’s accepts coupons?
I’m a super fan of Food for Life products. This is the only sliced bread I buy. I’ve found it taste best toasted. Making your own bread if another great option but, ain’t nobody got time for that.
These little guys would be great for mini pizzas. Go for the mini, the regular size contains sugar.
Add some pesticide free blueberries(12oz. for $3.49), or sliced banana.
32 oz. for $3.69
$2.69
This is the only cracker we buy. The price didn’t make the picture.
I hate that these say “Reduced Guilt.” I included them for you Triscuit loving folks, these are the equivalent of “Reduced Fat.” We are a full fat family here, that doesn’t associate guilt with food. By the way, most Triscuits have 0g of sugar. I couldn’t bring myself to include rice cakes (i.e. cardboard) but, TJ’s does have a brown rice organic variety with 0g sugar.
